We challenge anyone to meet Vui's Kitchen owner, Vui Hunt, and not want to hug her. She's just that kind of a personality – warm, vibrant and loving.
In 2015, Vui came to us as she was in the beginning phases of creating a new fast-casual authentic Vietnamese restaurant concept. We started the logo development process by pulling inspiration from the street vendors of Vietnam, using the image of a bicycle to convey the fast-casual service style. With a collection of logos to fit various applications, the rest of the brand identity was kept simple - a limited color palette, a few fonts, a few graphic elements and simple slogan: PHO REAL.
But Vui's Kitchen also had a unique challenge of bringing many unfamiliar menu items to a mainstream audience. After some discussion, we came up with the idea of using menu illustrations to not only educate the guests but to provide graphic decor for the restaurant.
Fast forward a couple years and Vui's Kitchen, now with two locations, was poised to launch a new catering initiative. With pick-up and drop-off catering and full-service options available, we knew the key to selling catering was in the photography. Studies have shown that people not only want to see the food, but how it's served. We whipped up a quick on-location shoot and utilized these assets in their catering brochure and website.
